Digital Media and Learning Competition 1

The first Digital Media and Learning Competition, administered by HASTAC and supported by the MacArthur Foundation, awarded a total of $2 million to 17 projects representing compelling work in the field of Digital Media and Learning. From a field of over 1,000 applications, seven projects won Innovation awards of $100,000 or $238,000; in the 2008 Knowledge-Networking category, ten projects received awards ranging from $30,000 to $72,000. HASTAC and the MacArthur Foundation wish to thank all who applied for making the Competition an overwhelming success.

This crucial work was an enormous undertaking, accomplishing the difficult task of establishing the finalist pool from over 1,000 applications.
